RIESLING
Originating in the Rhine region of Germany, aromatic grape variety, bouquets of flowers and perfume. The grape is suited to grow in sandy clay soils and slate.
Riesling is also used in making late harvest dessert wines, by leaving the grapes on the vines well past regular picking a drying of the grapes causes a fungus called “Botrytis Cinerea” or ’noble rot’. This intensifies the sugars and sweetness of the fruit and creates a great dessert wine.
